On October 24, 2026, the golden dragons of the IAMAF will fly out into the world again. This year, their journey will begin in České Budějovice, Czech Republic. For the first time, they will be accompanied by our super dragon! Celebrate this event with us and our “real golden dragons” for an entire weekend – with a 2-day international training course, an evening gala and accompanying program!

What is the golden dragon - and what is the super dragon?

Artistic and technical achievements in film are recognized in America with the Academy Awards - commonly known as the Oscars. In the field of martial arts, there are the golden dragons of the IAMAF! For the first time, one of our “real golden dragons” will be awarded the IAMAF “Super Dragon”. This award was created to show that the achievements of our award winners of recent years have neither lost their significance nor been forgotten.

Sights and highlights in the Czech Republic

The Czech Republic offers a wide variety of attractions in a compact area. So why not combine the Golden Dragon with a short break?

Here are just a few examples:

Prague Castle

The most important Czech monument – Prague Castle – is the largest enclosed castle complex in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site with over a thousand years of tradition.

Cathedral of St. Vitus

The largest church building in the Czech Republic, St. Vitus Cathedral, is located on the grounds of Prague Castle.

Old Town Hall with Astronomical Clock

A very special tourist attraction is the town hall clock, on which the twelve apostles appear every hour during the day.

Charles Bridge (Karlův most)

The Charles Bridge is one of the most beautiful monuments in the world. It is guarded by thirty statues and figures of saints. It is said that touching the figures brings good luck.

Český Krumlov

Český Krumlov – a town straight out of a fairytale book, whose entire medieval old town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The castle complex in Český Krumlov is the second largest castle complex in the Czech Republic and one of the most important monuments in Central Europe.

The State Chateau of Hluboká

This beautiful fairytale castle is certainly one of the most beautiful castles in the Czech Republic.

Holašovice Historical Village Reservation

In the heart of the beautiful landscape of South Bohemia lies a small village with baroque farmhouses clustered around the village square: Holašovice – another World Heritage Site.

Safari Resort Hluboká u Borovan

A 90-hectare nature reserve with 25 animal species – including deer and bison.

Telč

One of the most beautiful market squares in Europe can be visited in Telč. The picturesque Renaissance and Baroque houses here are not only a UNESCO World Heritage Site, but are also frequently used as film locations.

Karlštejn Castle

A castle built to house the royal treasure – the crown jewels as well as a collection of holy relics.

Vyhlidka Maj

Vyhlídka Máj is one of the most famous viewpoints in Central Bohemia, which can be reached with an easy, one-hour hike and offers a breathtaking view of the river bend on the Vltava.

Accommodation

In České Budějovice (Budweis) there are many small guesthouses and private apartments, as well as a few large hotels. However, booking early is advisable! Most accommodations can be easily booked online (e.g., via booking.com). Prices vary considerably depending on location and amenities. The cheapest prices are around €25 per person. It's therefore worth comparing prices! But beware: in some cases there is only one shared bathroom! Want to avoid using the bus or car? Here are some suggestions for accommodations that, according to Google Maps, are less than 1km away on foot from the venue (divided into 3 price groups).
